For combined C/U-plane performance testing, the eNB (DUT) connects to the S1/X2-SIM with 6 GbE interfaces, as shown in figure 1. Two interfaces are used as X2-CU connections (including both C-plane and U-plane messaging), simulating the connection of two eNBs in the E-UTRAN. Another two interfaces are used as S1-C connections, simulating two MMEs in the Core Network. The final two interfaces are for the S1-U interface, and simulate the connection of two Core Network S-GWs.
