SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Artiza Networks’ Global Sales and Marketing Director, Jaimeson Bilodeau, explained how using Advanced C-RAN technology already deployed in Japan can help accelerate rollouts and reduce CAPEX/OPEX for MNOs in a keynote speech at RAN USA 2016 in San Francisco. Artiza’s testing solutions helped NTT Docomo launch its Premium 4G service in 2015, which combines C-RAN and Carrier Aggregation to manage a massive number of UEs while also delivering DL speeds up to 300 Mbps to its customers. As the benefits of C-RAN become clear for LTE network operators in Japan and other Asian countries, a business case is being built for operators in other markets to implement C-RAN technology in their networks as quickly as possible.

To help vendors and operators deploy C-RAN architecture with confidence, Artiza Networks has developed a testing methodology that focuses on the enormous capacity requirements and dynamic traffic models faced by eNodeBs in real-world C-RAN deployments. At RAN USA 2016, Bilodeau presented this solution and described the potential of these proven C-RAN architectures to form the base of future 5G networks.

With Docomo aiming for a broad commercial release of 5G for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, steps are already being taken toward meeting the network performance demands of the future. Artiza Networks’ DuoSIM test equipment and know-how have been integral to rolling out some of the world’s most advanced C-RAN architectures.

Takashi Tokonami, CEO of Artiza Networks, said : “Realistic, high-capacity testing is crucial for successful rollouts of C-RAN architecture. The eNodeB is a key bottleneck, and we were happy to share the testing solutions we’ve been developing in Japan with a global audience at RAN USA. We’re confident that our market-proven Advanced C-RAN testing technology will benefit any MNOs looking towards C-RAN.”
