The Session Recognizer with Call Tracing
FURA’s analysis capability is not only limited to simple protocol decoding. It extends to session recognition by processing a series of protocol parameters over related session messages according to application protocols i.e. S1/X2/Diameter/Radius/GTP/PMIP. The call tracing function provides you the visualization of ladder chart of each session instead of displaying only sequences of data captured (Figure 1). In addition to regular protocol filters, session oriented protocol filters with specific session parameters i.e. IMSI/TMSI, are also very powerful to find problems from huge amount of data captured (Figure 2) in HDD. These functionalities enable you to dramatically reduce testing cost in R&D and recovery time in network operation.
Statistics function of FURA provides a clear status of the network for service providers. One other important feature of FURA is the Predefined KPI statistics which is critical functionality for competitive network operation. Because each operator defines different KPIs to manage cellular networks and CAPEX and OPEX are decided based on the KPIs. They provide you clear reasons and visions for investment and enable you to obtain higher ROI eventually. FURA’s KPIs statistic setup is so easy. All you need to do is just import predefined list and select KPIs you need (Figure 3). FURA counts and displays them on multiple interfaces in your complicated network. This allows FURA to become an essential tool for high return and cost effective network operation.
One of the issues in 3GPP development is quarterly release of the protocol specifications. Vendors and operators concern about speedy implementation every time specifications update released just before service integration. This makes development schedule critical. The project time-line is strictly controlled by 3GPP quarterly release. FURA’s flexible design guarantees quick updating for latest 3GPP release.
