Long Term Evolution (LTE) has emerged as the de-facto standard for 4G wireless broadband services even though 3G networks are still growing in many metropolitan areas. Major carriers have announced their LTE 4G build-out plan in 2010.
LTE will make a huge impact in our ubiquitous communication life. LTE’s high speed capability is realized with many advanced technologies, such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Access (OFDMA), Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO), and System Architecture Evolution (SAE). The new technologies enhance LTE network with highly effective radio controller and core network nodes, i.e., "evolved NodeB" (eNB) and "evolved Packet Controller" (EPC). The performance of the network service heavily relies on capability of eNBs and EPCs, and it is imperative for carriers to provide high performance LTE eNB and EPC for an excellent mobile broadband experience.
